Lucy's here!
Lucy has safely arrived. I still haven't got around to teaching her how to blog on this thing, so you'll have to wait with bated breath for that exciting installment.
Anyway, after the fire alarm at Heathrow airport was over Lucy arrived from Tokyo, not looking too worse for wear after the long flight. We tubed it home, chatting and also eavesdropping on some kiwi teachers who happened to be sitting opposite us.
I'm no good at remembering all this stuff, so you're getting the severly abridged version now. Thursday I took the day off and we cruised around town getting Lucy a cellphone and travel card etc. All that exciting stuff. She spent the first week or so very jetlagged so there was a lot of sleeping going on to.
Introduced her to a few of the rugby boys on Saturday. Went out for dinner in the evening. During the week she organised her agency and slept a lot. She got work as a teacher aide for Wednesday - Friday, which is thoroughly boring, but it's money coming in, and a chance for her to get used to the UK system.
This weekend just gone we went to Stomp on Friday - absolutely fantastic. Really impressed with what they did with water bottles, brooms, rubber tubing, rubber plungers and all kinds of other things. Got home around 11:30pm - being the civilised people that we are - and endured my flatmates up talking and drinking till 9am the next day. Saturday day we went on an unsuccessful shopping venture then in the evening went to a Brazillian bar with some people I've met over here. That was a lot of fun, particularly watching the Capoiera dancing.
Back to work, hopefully some more exciting things to tell you soon.
