Cambridge etc
Been an interesting few weeks. An old flatmate of mine from university days has been travelling Europe and we invited him to stay at our place for a few days. Forgot to tell the new flatmates though (old flatmates had known for ages), and they kicked up a huge fuss so we had to kick them out. Really surprised me and also annoyed me a bit too.
Anyway, the new flatmates have been "interesting" which has been quite a good thing because it encourages us to get out and about a lot more than we might otherwise do. I've introduced Lucy to salsa and we went to The Producers musical the other night with a friend. Quite a funny show.
Went for a pub lunch with some friends the other week. The guy sitting next to us looked oddly familiar, we all realised who it was when the people with him starting singing "Happy birthday dear Scribe". So we were at Scribe's birthday party! He's a NZ rap artist, for those of you who don't know. Only other famous face I've seen thus far is Baldrick off Blackadder and some random nurse from Shortland Street, can't remember her name.
This weekend just gone we went to Cambridge to have a look at the snooty kids in their snooty buildings. It's a really lovely town. Everyone bikes everywhere, the buildings are beautifully English, the river Cam is lovely. It's all just, well, lovely.
We took a lot of photos of the place, some of which have come out brilliantly so I'm going to print them out and frame them (eventually). The buildings are just so beautiful. King's College chapel is very impressive - the locals are justifiably very proud of it. We also went for a punt on the river Cam. I had planned on doing a self punt but let myself get conned by a salesman into doing a group one. At least the guide told us a couple of interesting things.
All in all it was a really nice relaxing day and the best part was just getting out of London and seeing a bit of greenery.
Sunday went to the first barbeque of the season at Lucy's cousin's place, which was a nice way to chill out after a busy Saturday.
